The trend towards floor-level showers continues apace. But every site – whether a new build or a refurbishment – is different. And every developer has its own personal ideas when it comes to architecture and design. Viega has responded to those challenges with the new Advantix range. Distinctive shower channel designs can be customised on the basis of a small number of individual articles. That simplifies inventory management and ordering.
The new Advantix shower channel's modular kit system consists of two base units in five lengths. It also offers a choice of three drains, adjusting feet in two different heights, three frame variants, and five different grates. All component elements can be combined with each other. So with a free choice of design and configuration, you only need to order what you actually need for the bathroom in question. That simplifies inventory management for wholesalers and trade contractors – even when the developer has highly personalised wishes.
Many combination options
The slim base units in the new Advantix range are installed either free-standing in the floor or directly on the wall. Together with the standard drain, the installation height is then 95 mm. If the screed is lower, the drain can be shortened further on-site. Alternatively, the 70 mm high refurbishment drain including flat adjusting feet can be ordered.
The installation height of the drain with the vertical outlet can even be reduced to 40 mm. It can also be used in drill holes with the Advantix fire protection pipe duct R120 – ideal for multi-storey apartment blocks for example.
Additionally, the drainage pipe of the two horizontal drains can be routed through between the adjusting feet directly beneath the shower channel. This ensures that the screed can be laid to a sufficient height and without interruption everywhere inside the floor-level shower.
The drainage capacities of the shower channels are between 0.4 and 1.1 litres per second, depending on variant. An innovative clip fastening provides a permanently secure attachment between the drain and the channel body. This also aids installation of the components.
High demands in terms of safety, design and quality
For the developers, the high quality and standards of workmanship of the base units and design grates are as essential as the safety considerations. Examples include sanded flanges, an innovative siphon technology as a highly effective odour trap and the just 5 mm wide inlet.
In its new modular-design stainless steel Advantix shower channel range Viega offers five different design grates and three frame variants. The standard design grates are available in matt or high-gloss polished stainless steel. Available alternatives include glass or tiling versions.
Which grates are combined with which frames is decided by the client. Whatever the choice, the slimmed-down design provides a stylish look inside the floor-level shower.
The new stainless steel Advantix shower channels will be available from Spring 2016.
