The Viega system press tools have been developed and tailored specifically for the installation of Viega press connector systems. Viega does not check whether the Viega system press jaws and chains can be used to press other manufacturers' systems. In particular, no statement can be made on whether it is possible to create permanently leakproof connections in this way. Detailed information concerning applications, limitations and national codes and standards can be found in the product documentation, either printed or on the Viega website.

Service Notes
Press machines generate a specified pressure for the pressing process.
To guarantee operational safety, a leakproof hydraulic system is required. Natural wear and tear on such heavily used components, however, is unavoidable.
To ensure the continuous operational safety and reliability of the system press machines, these must be maintained regularly.

Usually, tools are sent for maintenance to the authorised service partners specified by Viega, or maintained during local promotions at service partners at the specialist wholesaler.
We strongly recommend having press jaws, press rings, press chains and (hinged) adapter jaws checked during press machine maintenance.
By this, moving parts are lubricated, pressing contours are reworked and the press jaws, rings, chains and (hinged) adapter jaws are checked for damage and dimensional accuracy.

The general principle "safety through maintenance" applies!
From 2024, the press jaws and hinged adapter jaws will have a service sticker with QR code.

Service Interval
Pressgun 6 Plus and Pressgun Picco 6 Plus: available at any time via Viega Tool Services app or display after 40,000 pressings, safety shutdown after a further 2,000 pressings – but after 4 years at the latest – whichever occurs first.
Press gun 5: Indication after 40,000 pressings, safety shutdown after a further 2,000 pressings or after 4 years at the latest – whichever comes first.
Pressgun Picco and Pressgun 4B: Indication after 30,000 pressings, safety shutdown after a further 2,000 pressings or 4 years at the latest, whichever comes first.
Type PT3-AH and Picco: LED display after 20,000 pressings, safety shutdown after a further 2,000 pressings or 4 years at the latest, whichever occurs first.

Compatibility
Picco (24 kN): press jaws and rings compatible with press machines Picco and Pressgun Picco, Picco 6 and Picco 6 Plus.
PT2: press jaws, rings and chains compatible with press machines type 2 (PT2), PT3-AH and Pressgun 4B and 5, 6 and 6 Plus
Hinged adapter jaw P1 (article 622 657) for Picco: up to and including d32 or d35 and D¾.
Hinged adapter jaw Z1 (article 472 733) for PT2: up to and including d32 or d35 and D¾.
Hinged adapter jaw Z2 (article 472 740) for PT2: all greater pipe dimensions up to and including d108.0 or D2.
Press Booster Z3 (article 753 924) for PT2: Megapress XL press rings D2½, D3 and D4.
